Steven James, 28 is a senior graphic artist for X Concepts(r) and also co-owner/artist for Finesse(tm) skateboards and apparel. His Finesse(tm) line can be found in major skateboard shops and retailers around the world. His artwork can be found on numerous skateboard decks, apparel, and toys. Finesse(tm) products have been featured in many media outlets including BET's Rap City, as well as articles in skateboard and toy magazines. Finesse's artwork was used in the past on the popular line of TechDeck(r) finger boards created by X Concepts(r). Steven came up with the idea of taking his illustrations that he used for the Finesse(tm) products and team up with X Concepts(r) to give his Souljahs(tm) characters life. Souljahs(tm) represent urban lifestyles from all walks of life and from all around the world. They are kids and adults trying to make it in life the best way they know how. Steve comments on the characters, When I started designing characters for Souljahs(tm) I wanted to create characters that I saw growing up. The characters have positive attitudes to go after their goals in life just as everyone strives to do. The Souljahs(tm) might not live on the same block, or the same city but their connection runs deep because they share the same of experience of growing up on the streets.
